Davis, CA Orthodontist Warns of MSG as Possible Cause of Jaw Pain


Recently, the American Chemical Society (ACS) released a video explaining that monosodium glutamate (MSG) is safe for consumption. This food additive can be found in many dishes today due to its flavoring properties. As research goes, it activates a fifth taste bud popularly known as ""umami."" For Kathleen Holton, professor and nutritional neuroscientist at the American University in D.C., the video failed to highlight a crucial detail: despite its safety, MSG is still not for everyone.
